Wow - was this disappointing. I understood going into this movie that there weren't going to be car chases or explosions or midget orgies, but that doesn't excuse the absolute dullness that was August.
The movie starts at a rather slow pace, which in itself isn't a bad thing. It NEVER picks up, however, which IS a bad thing. The end fizzles out, leaving you wishing you had rented something more interesting.
This may have made a decent book, but it made a rather boring movie.
