Review of August (1996) by Via O — 26 Nov 2008
Energetic and yet thoughtful, this film subtly weaves all the plot threads together with common themes and creates a passionate, realistic morality tale in which Josh Hartnett proves once again he is capable of turning out an excellent performance.
The movie stumbles at the very end, with a last minute scene of redemption coming off as more awkward than touching, but overall the film's realistic writing and energetic direction/performances make it an involving film experience.
