Review of Audition (2000) by Paul C — 27 Nov 2009
Another great movie by Takashi Miike. Through most of the movie it just seems like a love stroy. I mean a really good chunk of it. But then near the end, Miike hits you with his genus, yet crazy mind. I will admit though he waited too long to get to the good stuff which did leave some parts of the movie boring.
But for the most part the story just got stranger and stranger. Ryo Ishibashi was the main character and did a great job. He really didn't have to strain his acting skills till the end though. But the star was Eihi Shiina.
She was very creepy in the film. There is one scene where she says the words, "Deeper Deeper Deeper". I will not spoil the scene, but it will really do a number on your mind. So this was a good suspenseful film.
