Review of Audition (2000) by Wes S — 04 Oct 2011
I can see how some could say this one is boring, but what makes this movie so creepy and disturbing is it's subtlety. It doesn't pull out all the stops with scary or gory scenes to scare you just for the sake of shock factor, but it uses nightmarish images in it's flashbacks of the female protagonist to build up the tension, and the music and dream-like atmosphere makes the film all the more eerie.
The ending is so intense and disturbing that even Rob Zombie was creeped out by it.
