Review of Attack the Block (2011) by Lisette B — 03 May 2012
A sci fi genre film with brains. This is the story of aliens landing near a London council estate and attacking the locals. Luckily for earth the hoodies are armed and dangerous. On another level its about taking responsibility for your actions and working for the community.
Great performances from the young cast especially John Boyega as Moses the boy with some growing up to do. In the wake of last years riots when the youth of the nation tarnished their reputation, this serves as a timely reminder that not all kids are bad.
