Review of Attack the Block (2011) by Zach M — 27 Jul 2012
The dialogue, style and bombastic soundtrack make this standout from similar adventures within the invasion genre. The acting is solid. London street language is interesting from an American perspective; it's almost like a hip-hop variation of A Clockwork Orange.
At just over 80 minutes, it's a quick burst of exciting action that lacks a little focus and development, but is full of interesting characters. The creature design and atmosphere is memorable: 'too black to see' is a chilling thought.
