Review of Attack the Block (2011) by Essenceofsugar — 29 Jul 2012
This film felt, though comedic, quite disturbing with the portrayal of the killings. It was better, because instead of the usual setting of a large city, it was on a London council estate. This gave it a distinctly unique British flavour.
The pacing was top-notch considering it was set around a night. What also must be taken into account is the availability of character viewpoints, which, perhaps, might have been overwhelming for some people, but I thought it would be easier to hear from more people than less to provide a better understanding.
The reflection of the aliens' behaviour against the teenagers which they obviously perceive to be dangerous could be compared to their perceived behaviour from the authorities point of view. Despite the less than proper language, this was still funny and surprisingly clever.
