Review of Attack the Block (2011) by Realndn — 01 Sep 2011
I watched this movie on a whim after reading a blurb about it on some random website, and boy am I glad that I did! The cast are mostly a bunch of unknown child actors with the exception of Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, etc.
), but every single one of them does a wonderful job. I don't know if its their accents or the British slang, but every line they delivered was interesting and very quotable. The story, about a race of alien life forms crash landing in England, and the resulting battle with the locals, kind of takes a back seat to the dialogue at times, but its so lightning quick you can't help but stay entertained.
If you like witty dialogue, a good amount of action and popcorn scares, this is the movie for you.
