Review of Attack the Block (2011) by Tired Of P — 09 May 2012
Another alien invasion film. Yeah like that doesn't surprise me, but what does surprise me is how entertaining it can be. Attack the Block is directed by Joe Cornish the man who wrote Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim and the Adventures of Tintin.
The young actors who play in the gang are famously well known actors but that adds leverage to the gangster side of the film, the only famously well known guy is yep Nick Frost. The aliens are created and artistically down so well they look like something that children would be afraid of when they go to sleep with the door closed.
A funny sci-fi action flick with a fantastic finale that is very thrilling.
