I'm not entirely sure this film made up its mind who it was targeting. It's like 'Ghostbusters' set in the ghetto! Full of swearing, drug use, gang culture, and violence, it clearly could only be witnessed by an Adult audience, yet the concept of aliens landing from outer space was very cartoony and child like.

It's quite a cleverly structured movie, beginning with a young woman being mugged by a gang of hooligans, before their estate becomes plagued by beasts from outer space. Only then do the individuals have to patch up their differences and battle together to save their estate from extra terrestrial dominance.

Starring Nick Frost, who of course performs his dopey slob like role, it's very along the lines of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz standard but I found myself increasingly annoyed by the overuse of the 'street' lingo, which was almost like watching something in a different language.

It was action packed to the end, but only to an average standard, but at least I didn't ever get lost or fall asleep. I sense this would be a big hit with the teenage audience because it'll be cool to go and see something with plenty of swearing, guns, and references to 'fit' girls.

For me however, it's likely to be a one-off.
