Review of Attack the Block (2011) by Tiger L — 22 Apr 2014
The film attempts to merge the genres of alien invasion, horror, stoner comedy, and a bit of urban street, and the results are an astounding success. It blends the genres seamlessly into an awesome cohesive whole that is an absolute blast to watch.
It's funny, scary, exciting, and even a bit heartwarming. The amateur actors get the job done for the most part with a few hiccups as well as a few standout performances, and the writing and effects are top-notch.
It's an incredibly entertaining and profoundly original film well worth a look.
