Review of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! (1978) by Tor M — 01 Aug 2015
The tomatoes are coming. And they will kill you.
A team is trying to vipe them out and what a team it is. The black Adolf Hitler, the overdubbed Japanese and the hero that runs around with his parachute deployed are priceless. Darn witty dialogue at times, with a very clever phone scene included.
I feel it's like a Mel Brooks or David Zucker light. It miss that little extra quality.
Some crazy stupid songs with lyrics that lifts the mood. The instrumental songs are super goofy as well.
There are loads of dead time with few jokes and the story is as expected a total mess.
The laughs are a bit rear so this is not a direct hit. This is a bad film, but an enjoyable one.
3.5 out of 10 tomatoes.
