Review of Atonement (2007) by Hung-Ya L — 20 Sep 2013
Words cannot express how phenomenal this film truly is. From the acting (particularly on James McAvoy's part) to the costuming/music, and to the breathtaking cinematography, there is nothing that this movie does not perfectly do.
Joe Wright delivers in his second directoral film more than I would have pecked imaginable. This is also one of the remarkably rare times where the film is far more intriguing and innovative than the novel.
If this film does not win Best Picture [or at the very least -- nominated], sanity will all be lost in the film industry. This is definitely a movie one would see again. This film is simply utter perfection and is exactly what a movie ought to be.
