Review of Atonement (2007) by Black R — 15 Nov 2011
Atonement is a very dismal but beautifully filmed war adaption. The director of Pride and Prejudice directs a very diverse movie, causing heartrending scenes that make it unforgettable. A fantastic cast, no one can ever pick a better group for this. I heard the book was really good as well, because it did get number ten in the top 100 novels by TIME Magazine.
Atonement is about a woman named Cecilia Tallis (Keira Knightly) who falls in love with childhood friend, Robbie Turner (James McAvoy), and sister Briony Tallis does the same. But when Briony thinks she saw Robbie doing a sinful act, via all the evidence she saw from before (watch and find out), she accuses him for that crime and is sent behind bars, but let out early to join the army.
I didn't tell you a lot about the film because you have to find out those things yourself, and it wouldn't be as great an experience if you didn't. This film has an amazing scenery, mostly being the war camp, because everyone is doing something distinct, making everything seem so real. They had to have a lot of effort to make this, that's what makes it a respectful and unforgettable film.
