Review of Atonement (2007) by Rodney S — 05 Jan 2014
Since it's an Ian McEwan story, the plot has some enormous holes. Unfortunately, the screenplay doesn't plug them, and the direction makes things worse - a ferris wheel at Dunkirk: what were they thinking?. Good acting can't compensate.
This is one of those quite good movies that gets less and less satisfactory when you think it over afterwards.
