Review of Atonement (1971) by Christopher S — 12 Feb 2012
A very good film. 2007 had a lot of good ones, from Atonement to No Country for Old Men. Great adaptation of Ian McEwan's novel. The chemistry and sexual tension between Keira Knightley and James McAvoy in the beginning of the film was excellent.
However, it was Romola Garai and later penitent Saoirse Ronan that stole every scene as Briony. The ending was very sad but excellent. It was not as predictable as I thought it would be. This film shows us how one mistake could destroy the lives of the others.
Lot of collateral damage involved. Must see film.
