Review of Atomic Blonde (2017) by Joshua M — 07 Nov 2017
It's too bad that the storyline is so muddled for this movie; the action and acting barely keep it afloat. While the fight choreography and stunts are superb (in some ways, even better than director David Leitch's previous project, 2014's "John Wick"), the plot that they take place in is strangely enough both too convoluted and too clichéd at the same time.
Charlize Theron offers a top-notch performance as the latest action hero while also delivering something more vulnerable and complex than your average, stereotyped "strong female lead." I would love to see her character Lorraine Braughton in another film; however, I also would hope the quality of script would improve if she indeed does warrant a sequel.
