Charlize Theron is awesome and total kick ass in "Atomic Blonde". Loved "Atomic Blonde". The plot is weaker. The martial arts action is amazing and realistic. Charlize is nuanced movie star swag, and trained tirelessly for her realism.
There is a single shot rescue scene toward the end where Theron's Lorraine gets beaten and also thrashes her enemies, that is awesome. One of the best action sequences ever in movies. The material falters at times, and Theron never does.
Her performance displays rage and frailty. We want her to find her measure of justice, and perhaps some peace. She deserves that much.
