Review of Atomic Blonde (2017) by Andrew E — 16 Aug 2017

I strongly disliked this movie. It was obviously written and directed by men, as the entire film is like putting on male gaze glasses. This is a movie by men for men. The action is good and the music is great, sure, but the film objectifies its female characters. I'm not saying we can't see women naked on screen or that we shouldn't see a woman get hurt, but this film sexualizes the violence against these women.

You might love this movie, I don't know. For me, the whole time I just couldn't shake the feeling that this movie was not made for me.

PS: the plot makes no sense.
