Review of Atomic Blonde (2017) by Roscoe W — 02 Aug 2017
This was a two-hour cigarette and Stoli commercial. Every other shot depicts these international secret agents pouring $15 vodka. WTF? Whereas John Wick embraces its B-movie status and runs with it, Atomic Blonde felt like it wanted to be way more than what it was.
Pretty visuals were trashed up by the lame script and lame fake-grafitti titles. The action scenes were good, but few and far between in the over-complicated, stunningly boring plot. In terms of comparable films, I would describe this film as a gravely serious Kung Fury.
How this got close to 76% positive is beyond my comprehension.
