Review of Atlas Shrugged: Part II (2012) by Patrick G — 16 Oct 2012
Atlas Part 2 moves at a faster pace than Part 1 - plus the production values are considerably higher. I must say, however, the casting of Hank and Dagny in Part 1 was superior - the new Dagny just looks rather tired and beaten down.
Francisco was a remarkable improvement this time -- and the casting for both Quentin Daniels and Jeff Allen was excellent. Just as was the case 18 months ago with Part 1 -- the "official film critics" have completely discounted the film -- while the viewers have garnered it with 80+% approval.
No surprise here -- the liberal media (critics) are simply adhering to their orthodoxy. This film depicts a grim future, very much in alignment to our present economic and political times. I fully expect a green light for Part 3, irrespective of the financial take on this recent deployment.
I plan to see the film again this weekend after completing my current reading of Atlas. Cheers!
