Review of Atlas Shrugged: Part II (2012) by Len S — 13 Oct 2012
Atlas Shrugged Part 2 was great, much better than the first! Jason Beghe is awesome as Hank Readen. His courtroom scene and "rigid principles" speech are highlights of the film. Esai Morales is fantastic as Francisco. His delivery of the "Money Speech" does justice to the drama, emotion, and ideas presented in the novel in a way I never thought any film adaptation could ever accomplish.

The crowning achievement of the film is the train collision scene, which was more intense than any Hollywood firefight or explosion scene I've seen in years! The philosophical message of the scene being clear: the consequence of mass unconsciousness - which is the result of corrupt government and corporate structures - is the destruction of innocent lives. The movie as a whole will probably be ignored by the masses, but the impact this scene will have on filmmakers - particularly those wanting to convey a humanitarian message - is inevitable.
