Review of Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011) by Gloria F — 24 Apr 2011
The casting was great except for Dagny Taggart (too weak) and Francisco D'Anconia (too disheveled). Is it too late to get Angelina Jolie for Part II? And Brad Pitt would make a much better John Galt.
I took a friend who had not read the book and he got the gist of it all ... needed less "sweeping views of Colorado" and more meat. What happened to Francisco's famous monologue "So you think that money is the root of all evil?".
Pooh on you guys who think the movie is too wordy. This is a philosophical drama ... it IS about some of the most important words ever written.
