Review of Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011) by Frank P — 25 Apr 2011
As a fan of ayn rand I had hoped this movie would introduce a new generation to her work, instead it merely preached to the choir failing to endear the characters or their motives to any but the most devout individualists.
The villains motives are spouted in vile tone, but hardly seem evil upon reflection. The movie makes it out as if trying to help the less fortunate is evil in itself, rather than just that their methods are ultimately faulty and naive.
In short- this movie is hindered more by what it could have beeen than what it is.
