Review of Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011) by Todd G — 27 Apr 2011
Just look at the difference between the "professionals" and the audience. I think that tells you everything to know. The professionals were looking for any excuse possible to hate this movie and I'd hazard a guess that they had their reviews written before watching 20 seconds of the movie.
Let's be honest, Ayn Rand is a polarizing figure, but this polarizing? I think not. To essentially say there were no redeeming qualities of this movie is an argument on politics, not the content of the film.
I loved it. Period. And if you really want to get a taste of why it's so hated, just note the uncanny parallels between what happens in the movie and what's happening in this country right now.
Atlas is shrugging already.
