Review of Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011) by Laura B — 13 May 2011
Having read the book, I could fill in what the movie was missing. I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to Parts 2 and 3. My only real complaint was that I had to drive more than an hour away from my home to see it.
I don't agree totally with Rand's philosophy, but she had a very good grasp of the evils of politicians who wield the power of their offices like a bludgeon and try to limit individual freedom as much as they can.
I recommend reading the book with an open mind no matter what your political persuasion. Much of what is written there will resonate and remind you eerily of today's political and social climate.
