Extremely disappointing. I love this book, it's one of my favorites. And I feel like there was a lot of potential to make an engaging movie, but at the same time the source material is very dense and doesn't adapt easily.
You can't blame them for trying, but it's just not quite there. Cheesy dialogue. Flat acting. Don't like all the casting. I really wanted to like this but alas. If you really love the book, it's worth watching once or twice, but if you have never heard of it, skip the movie and just read the book.
If you watch this before reading the book it will ruin it for you.
