Review of Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011) by Angel F — 05 Nov 2011
I loved this movie. After reading reviews, I was terrified that the movie was absolutely terrible. However, as an Ayn Rand fan, I a had to see it. This is one of the first movies I've ever seen that followed to plot from the book.
Taylor Schilling is a fantastic Dagny and John Galt is portrayed very well. I never once felt frustrated that something from the book was left out and I certainly wasn't disappointed about all of the trains.
Trains are a big part of the book; therefore, they have to be equally influential of the movie. One review that I read bashed the dialogue in the movie over and over. It seams that this person clearly never read the book and doesn't understand the significance of the dialogue used.
I feel that the screenwriters and actors did an outstanding job. I certainly hope parts 2 and 3 don't fall out of production.
