Review of Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) by Red B — 08 Dec 2009
Well, I do agree that there are some flaws and especially when it comes to deeper characters' development (although considering their number here (quite big), Disney did a great job and managed to give each of the characters their own unique appearence on the screen). Plot though very predictable (a millions-worth expedition in order to "study" a lost civilisation - obviously what the real thing here is ;)) offers something for everyone - adventure, action, drama and romance. A little bit of a minus is the too edgy animation (a matter of taste of course), which has one big disadvantage - difficult to draw emotions on the characters' faces. Some movements of the limbs are also not so good. Oh, well. Nothing's perfect.
Definitely worth watching. It's not a real masterpiece but its pretty much above the quality that Disney delivered in the past few years (there are exceptions of course).
