Review of Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) by Sam E — 18 Feb 2014
Saw that this was available on Netflix and I hadn't seen it in over 10 years, so I gave it a watch. A lot of details are inaccurate (no, I don't mean historically, I mean visually impossible). Take, for example, the first scene of the film, where Milo rubs off a part of the chalkboard map with his shirt and then stands in front of the map to complete it. The imprint on his shirt should be the MIRROR IMAGE of the map, therefore not allowing him to fill in the gap with his body.
HOWEVER, I think that this film does a lot in terms of representing all races and classes of people and not sugar-coating the explosions or sarcasm that the characters convey. I'd pick this over a Disney movie any day.
