Review of Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner (2002) by Doug F — 15 Apr 2010
I think I would benefit from another viewing of the first Inuit made film, Atanarjuat, but it's difficult to find another 3 hours when I'd have time to follow through with that. It certainly would clear up that long winded, often confusing narrative at the beginning.
Certainly don't go in expecting to be thoroughly entertained, but see it as an opportunity to be absorbed into a culture and it's folklore. You can tell that it meant a lot to the film makers, and that is worth something.
