Review of At the Devil's Door (2014) by Mirza Mohd S — 07 Sep 2014
The films opens with an intriguing series of events good enough to turn the viewer by declaring this a potentially new favorite horror movie. But somewhere down the line the film gets lost in itself after developing potentially interesting characters & suddenly shifting them into the background.
For my tastes the plot of 'At the Devil's Door' wandered too much, became too many different stories too suddenly, and never really committed to one identity. And that's a shame as the film opened with some really great horror potential that demanded focus on one character's perspective and continual thickening of atmosphere.
Even the tension the film does build just happens in too many places to ever rise to the level of terror. Home aka At The Devils Door starts of an interesting premise, but forgets how to end due to sudden thrown in of cliche filled climax.
Horror fans will be disappointed!
