Review of At Middleton (2013) by Mark A — 10 Dec 2014
I am definitely a softie when it comes to films like this. I loved it! Vera Farmiga just radiates on screen. I loved the interplay between Edith and George and was heart broken at the ending. The cinematography was beautiful, and the plot, although formulaic and predictable, was in spite of that well thought out and entirely plausible.
There was drama, most prominently when George and Edith are called on to participate in the drama class that they crashed, and plenty of care-free lighthearted moments. This is the second film that I've seen where Vera's younger sister, Taissa, plays her daughter and she is an actress to be watched.
One wonders if her character will find a balance to her life or whether seeing her dreams crushed will cause her to crash and burn. I have to give it five stars!
