Review of Astro Boy (2009) by Ernst M — 28 Dec 2011
I couldn't help but come into this movie with extremely high hopes as this was one of my staple cartoons growing up. I can't say how dissapointed I was with this movie, the voice casting of Highmore as Astroboy off but by far was crippled this movie off the hop was Nicolas Cage as Dr Temna.
His character is not only horribly performed but cripples Act I of the movie. Once the storyline moved past the father (Dr. Temna) the quality of the movie jumps to a much higher level of quality but unfortunately the damage was already done.
Hopefully one day this story will be re-done correctly.
