Review of Astro Boy (2009) by Paul D — 29 Dec 2012
Itâ??s a film that shows what is possible in a CGI animation, something which Pixar have only just started doing themselves, with Wall-E and Up, making films that are a bit more grown up, but still have a major appeal for a family audience.
Astro boy was created by Osamu Tesuque, revered in Japan as the â??God of Mangaâ?? nearly 60 years ago, originating as a manga , as well as being made in to a number of television series, and although this has been made for an American audience, it still has a very Japanese feel to it, and due to its notoriety has attracted an amazing voice cast, such as Nicolas Cage and Donald Sutherland, who are both fans.
