Review of Asteroid City (2023) by Navybean — 02 Jul 2023
I loved Rushmore, Moonlight Kingdom, Bottle Rocket (though raw) and Tennenbaums. But I dozed off about 45 minutes into this. Woke up and didn't feel like I missed anything .. actually wished I had slept longer. I wish Wes would focus instead of trying to do so many ideas in a half-assed way. I didn't get to know any of these characters at anything more than a surface level. Looks nice. Good score. Tries way too hard to be avant-garde and I will never ever watch this movie again.
Little girls are best thing about this. Make a movie with them.
