Review of Assassin's Creed (2016) by Gil G — 10 Jan 2017
Where to begin... this film feels like a screenwriter played the first 20 minutes of the video game to learn the concept, then tried to fill in the rest. None of the character motivations make sense. The story is disjointed and horribly edited.
The only good portions of story (involving the Spanish Inquisition) still have little to no life injected into them. Fassbender, Cotillard, and Irons do what they can to give convincing performances, but there is absolutely nothing to this movie at.
It's an ugly slow burn that wastes the potential of the game's lore.
