Review of Assassin's Creed (2016) by Yash B — 30 May 2018
As someone who has seen the source material for "Assassin's Creed" at its best, this movie is an absolute mess. The story in the movie is overly convoluted and is a pain to follow. People who have played the games will enjoy little nods here and there but even that can't forgive a poorly written story that doesn't make a lick of sense.
I will say the movie is at its best in the scenes set in the past. The action is good in these segments, however, they never last too long. I think the ideal movie for this franchise would take out the whole modern day element and just show sequences set in the past.
The movie is ultimately a boring one that doesn't do the franchise any justice and is a waste of a slew of talented actors that can't save the movie. Overall, I think it's a better use of your time to play a couple of the video games instead.
