Review of Assassin's Creed (2016) by Jack S — 11 Jan 2017
Great movie!!! The best adaptation of a video game for the big screen !! It is completely true to the philosophy of the games and to see the film is like being to play a game of the Saga AC. I think it can be confusing that when you enter the Animus there is not a continuous line of events, but this is the Animus (only shows memories and in real life our memories do not appear in a linear way). The games are more linear, but are more than 10 hours of play.
And the story focusing on the present, than in the past (where everyone expected to have more emphasis) was the best choice. Allow to illiterate people understand the secondary effects of the Animus, and for them to realize how he "transforms" into an Assassin in the blink of an eye. They could have done it differently, I agree. But if there is a second, they will correct such error. But "Assassinate" a movie after a first glitch without ever having played or researched the games .... sorry but I do not think it's correct.
The Animus shows to the illiterate people what the "cientist" are watching and has been well modified for this purpose. illiterate people who have never played AC games will find it very confusing but a little research on the games will help them.
To say that the movie is bad is a crime! To say badly of something that is not known is easy, difficult is to accept something after we know its content. And that's what's happening with this movie.
