Review of Assassin's Creed (2016) by Hec R — 30 Jan 2017
Assassins Creed.
2 out of 5 stars.
Awesome choreography and fight scenes cant make up for a weak narrative in this latest video game to screen adaptation.
The real issue with Assasins Creed is the Mcguffin, the Apple Of Eden and the evil Templar's never ending quest for world domination by use of a said mystical device, it doesn't really amount to much more than that and thats the main issue with Assassins Creed, there's no real depth.
Sure there's the whole relive my ancestors past memories, but this is hugely under played, the memory sequences really only serve as action pieces to the rest of the film, we are talking zero charchter development outside the modern sequences.
Good action and slick set design just isn't enough to carry this one to any memorable levels.
