Review of Assassination of a High School President (2008) by Miss. B — 02 Dec 2009
"I know art when I see it".
High school dramedy; tragic, absurd and wonderful.
**UPDATE: Not at all like Brick.
I've been waiting since Jan of 2008 to see this when it played at Sundance. I was not disappointed. Bruce Willis cracked me up. Kathryn Morris was amazingly funny - caught me off guard. Reece Thompson does a great job as nerdy hero. And I really liked Melonie Diaz and her great facial and body expressions. And big ups for pirate girl, whoop whoop!!!
Good soundtrack.
Mischa was good, better than I expected, especially near the end; what I liked the most was the cinematography + closeups of her intimate scenes.
Good and quirky high school genre- over the top with great flow.
Fun and funny and intelligent enough. The mystery aspect had good pace.
