Review of Ask Me Anything (2014) by Steve E — 09 Dec 2014
I was fortunate enough to pre-screen "Ask Me Anything" (Thanks Allison). It's hard for me to give a full review of this movie because I don't want to give away spoilers or elements of surprise and a full review, even a minor review, would do just that.
I want people to walkaway with the same GREAT experience that I did with all the element of surprise. Britt Robertson fans will NOT be disappointed in this movie. In fact it is by far her most mature and demanding role and it's nice to see her successfully carry a lead role relying on her ability as a great actress with so much talent.
In several of her past roles she's played the part of a jaded teen protecting herself from being hurt. In the role of Katie, she is flawed, has had trauma in her past, could easily be jaded, but instead she seems to embrace it and comes across as almost proud of how this past trauma affects her life as a teen.
The soundtrack fits perfectly with this movie. Allison did a fabulous job directing. I strongly recommend seeing this movie, because it's likely to become one of your favorites and you'll certainly have a new appreciation for her talent as an actress.
For me this was a 5 star movie.
