The cynical but awkward humor offered throughout this movie is well done, and I'm sure Jack Nicholson proably didn't think twice of playing Udall when he saw the script. The dialog in this movie was great, and is what truly makes the movie.
I'm glad they tried to keep the production simple, and did well to not complicate plot any more than it needed to be. It's a believable story, and a story I ador.
