Review of As Good as It Gets (1997) by Bivo M — 01 Dec 2015
Jack Nicholson is a pro at insulting people, especially women. Despite his behavior, he overcomes some psychological issues and grows to make significant gestures in the lives of other people. I remember smirking and chuckling my way through this film, but I also felt the raw and emotional scenes. Helen Hunt's character inspires great empathy as she struggles with the stress of a low paying job, being a single mom to an ill son, and dealing with a disapproving mom. This film holds more weight than just a romantic-comedy.
