Review of As Good as It Gets (1997) by Tommy M — 28 Sep 2010
A firm example of a movie in which the actors are so perfectly cast, and yet so unfortunate to follow the conventional path of the romantic comedy formula.
Jack Nicholson is a walking miracle of an actor, and his ability to make the film work is unprecedented in spite of its predictability. Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear are marvelous as well in a pair of roles that could've easily been one-dimensional in the hands of any other actors.
