Review of As Good as It Gets (1997) by John H — 13 Jun 2011
Although James L. Brooks's story about a misanthropic obsessive-compulsive attempting to gain humanity is well constructed, he needed a talented actor to make it work onscreen. Jack Nicholson is perfectly cast as Melvin Udall, hilarious when he hates everybody but believable when the time comes to make a connection with Helen Hunt.
Funny and touching.
