Review of As Cool as I Am (2013) by Van G — 18 Oct 2013
I didn't really have any expectations when watching this movie and I was happily surprised. I have only seen Sarah Bolger in two movies before this one and I was happy to see her act again. Her appearence as a sixteen-year-old was very credible despite the fact of her being twenty-two in real life.
Claire Danes and James Marsden were great as the parents even if I found some of the parenting skills rather unrealistic.
I could also find that other situations in the movie were a bit unrealistic and that they needed to show you more of the situation to make you understand the concept better.
Other than that it was a great movie about a teenager who has taught herself to be the grown up, because her parents who had her when they were her age is incapable of growing up themselves.
The movie had a great soundtrack and even though it felt like it didn't have a beginning, middle or end, it was still a pleasure to sit through it.
