Review of As Above, So Below (2014) by Kevin B — 05 Sep 2014
The fact that people are bashing the film for the shaky camera style obviously cant see that far into a film. The film follows an archaeologist and her quest to find an alchemy stone that can make an individual and turn any known material to gold.
Once they enter the catacombs under france it turns into a film not about the stone but about how the guilt an individual has can create ones own personal hell. There are some jumps scares that will get you if you jump at scary movies.
If you dont than you wont jump simple as that. The film welcomes you with open arms by giving you just about all the information you need to know about the characters. Though it does seem to rush you out the door near the end it still is an enjoyment to watch.
If you like a movie that can scare the easily scared yet still have more to it than blood and pointless deaths than I would suggest go see this movie or rent it when it comes out. Its not as good as some but better than most modern horror movies.
