Review of As Above, So Below (2014) by Luke R — 06 Sep 2014

While the movie does deliver some great scares and the atmosphere is terrifying As Above/So Below falls flat to deliver anything really pulse pounding. The movie has a great setup and idea and I was really hoping for the most terrifying movie in the universe.

.. But what I got was a full first hour of nothing but 2 or 1 scares. The movie was trying to build up in the beginning which I can understand but did it really need to take 1 hour to do it. The movie however did pick up in the end with amazing scares and terrifying moments but that doesn't change the fact that the movie was still boring for the first hour.

The ending was the most disappointing part of the movie for me, even though it ended with a little scare. (SPOILER) After they escape from the catacombs with a little scary moment of being chased they just walk away and it shows Scarlett talking about it and that's it.

THAT'S IT!!!! No twist ending or anything it just ends like that. To me it was a very disappointing movie that had a great setup but just failed to deliver it like it said it would. I would probably recommend it if your a fan of found footage movies and if your a horror movie fan like me but you might be disappointed with it.
