Review of As Above, So Below (2014) by Trevor K — 14 Sep 2014
"As Above, So Below" is an interesting add to the found footage horror genre. It starts off seeming like a melting pot of other genre favorites such as "The Descent" but has an end that is reassuring and oddly fulfilling.
The film plays on more psychological fears of guilt, imcompletion and the afterlife while playing on the mortal dangers of the character's claustrophobic-underground setting. The film definitely brings something new to the table, however the film's build up is far too slow.
All the actors do a great job, however of conveying their torments in this underground hell-ride that was safely unique, yet painfully slow.
